Open-Angle Glaucoma

On August 26, 2019 I have a final diagnosis about my eyes, I have what is called "Open-Angle Glaucoma with Nerve Fiber Loss". I will take special eye drops now, Latanoprost 0.005% Ophth Soln 2.5ml, one drop/eye every night before bed to keep the pressure levels down in my eyes to help prevent further damage to my optical nerves.

Open-Angle Glaucoma, the most common form of the disease, it is called the “sneak thief of sight” because there are usually no warning signs. Of the estimated three million Americans who have glaucoma, only about half of them have been diagnosed. This means approximately 1.5 million Americans don’t know they have glaucoma. (2019). Right now there is now known cure for Glaucoma and doctors do not know why this happens just like autoimmune diseases. The drops I use and other treatments I might have to have only delays the inevitable, I will eventually go blind.

There has been recent research findings that expose glaucoma as an autoimmune disease. You can read this fascinating article here: https://www.aao.org/headline/unexpected-findings-expose-glaucoma-as-autoimmune-
